Saturday in KC!

First we hit up the Westport Art Fest. Very cool local artists... We both were a fan of the many local photographers.

Then we went to Blanc, Burgers and Bottles... A FANTASTIC burger place in Westport that has a HUGE beer list. Shaw had a Bison burger with a Triple style beer from Avery Brewing. Maureen and Elizabeth bot had a Blue cheese stuffed burger and Maureen had a Xingu black beer from Brazil.

After dinner we went to a Hookah bar and had some great hookah in an apple bowl with Baklava... Scrumptious. Then we hit up a great free performance by the dance group Quixotic Fusion... Quixotic Fusion is a collaborative ensemble of artists from various disciplines – dance, film, aerial arts, music, and fashion. This inventive group of artists goes beyond the limits of any specific art form, challenging traditional perceptions and creating a total sensory experience unlike any other for its audience.

It was a great show outside at the Nelson Atkins Museum with all new dances and music inspired by the new architecture at the museum. They had dancers and aerialists around the building and even on the side of the museum. The music was incredible.

Sunday

Last sunday we road tripped to Weston Red barn Farm and saw the first gourds and pumpkins of the season. Cool but it means cold weather is coming... sick.

After that we headed to the Rielleys for a little BBQ and beer with them and the Nelsons. Tons of fun!

Finally we caught a great sunset on the way home outside of "Iatan" whilst trying to beat "deer rush hour".

Fun creatures around the house

Well I think they are fun anyway... Maureen HATES them!

Mexico Pictures!

Here are a few pictures from our trip last month.  I can't believe it was so long ago!

swimming in the Pacific!

Lovely red flowers were everywhere.
really, this is what we saw from our balcony.
charming!  I never really worried about them falling on our heads, but looking back, perhaps I should have!
Dolphins!  At the little city in the gated community, you had an opportunity to go and swim with the dolphins.  We didn't, but had a great time watching!!
At the Mexican restaurant, drinking the amazingly fantastic mexican coffee!
My husband, the model.
at the Mexican Restaurant.  Great food!
Hilarious rendition of the Lion King with a real child (from Iowa!).
By the pool
Iguanas and lizards were everywhere!  Even on the walls right outside of our room!
Beautiful sand!
All-inclusive!
