Maureen's 29th Birthday

What a lovely 29th Birthday!!!  Shaw planned it all - as I prefer.  Kids were allocated across family lines, brown boots that were purchased for me off my list were returned for fabulous boots that fit appropriately and look amazing, then we headed downtown!

We started at CaVa in westport - a fun little champagne bar that we had yet to try.  We purchased the charcuterie board and cheese board, but they were VERY small and I was STARVING so....

Off to our favorite BBQ joint - Q39! We ordered our usual -

and it was delish!

Then we went to the Nelson Atkin's Art Museum for their 3rd Thursday event.  A fun band, lots of bars, beautiful art and an air guitar competition!
There was also beautiful jewelry and "trunk" shops that were open, as well as a station to make your own wrapping paper.  Pretty fun!

It has been a very long time since we were last at the Nelson sans kiddos.  It was so nice to amble along instead of steer the heard!

After the Nelson, we stopped by Starbucks, then traveled out to South JoCo to see the new Hunger Games Movie "The Mocking Jay Part 1" out at Cinematopia.  I've wanted to see that theater for a long time! It was quite a let down of a theater ($8 popcorn that was NASTY and weird theaters with broken seats etc) but so fun to walk around outside with the snow and Christmas lights and see a movie!  Then we picked up Gus and went home to sleep.

I had a lovely birthday celebration with my in-laws last Sunday, and will celebrate with my side this coming Sunday at brunch.  Such a blessing to be surrounded by such loving family and fabulous friends!

Thank you all!
Maureen
